Standalone: This class is a fascinating journey into the biblical people of the ANE. Those who are want to better understand the political and cultural climate within the Ancient Middle East will find this course to be very educational. This class helps open up the biblical text giving you a better grasp of the context for the stories within the Tanach. Perfect for teens and adults of all levels.
Program Path: Those who are looking for a more structured workload will find this course is required for a two and three-year certificate. This class does not have to be taken in a specific order to qualify for certificate credits, although we recommend taking it after first-year classes are completed. This class counts for 3 quarter hours within the certificate program.
Course Requirements: This class requires the ability to proficiently read the English language, listen to audio lectures, and a basic knowledge of a computer.
Workload: The average workload each week is around four hours. This includes an hour-long lecture, assigned reading, as well as interaction in the class forum. A final exam is also required at the end of the class to complete the course.
